Why Write?

Writing is an art, and just as there are great painters and sculptors, there are great writers. You only have to call to mind the English Classic authors, such as Emily Bronte, Jane Austen, or Mark Twain. You may even wish to journey back to the 13th century and visit Rumi, the Sufi mystic and poet; a favorite of mine. His words strike a chord and resonant with my entire essence like no other.

Beyond words

Everyone has a story to tell, and whether or not your dream is to write the next Great Gatsby, writing will fill your soul with an emotion difficult to convey. Putting words down on paper can be cathartic, even healing, as whatever may be troubling and bottled up inside you, makes its way out, exiting through your hand onto the paper, giving you a relief you’ve not been familiar with before. Perhaps you just want to pen a jingle or a short poem. Maybe you’d like to write something for your grandchildren or a short story about a life defining moment you’ve had. Whatever you choose to write, just pick up a pen and start. It’s that simple.
You’ll be glad you did – just like me!
